Our client, an established, growing, food manufacturer, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to lead the daily operations of our production facility. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of daily plant operations, including production, quality control, inventory management, and maintenance.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of production staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
- Develop and execute production schedules to meet demand, optimize resources, and minimize waste.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and workplace health and safety regulations (e.g., SQF, OSHA).
- Monitor production metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to balance supply and demand effectively.
- Troubleshoot production challenges and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
- Oversee equipment and infrastructure maintenance to ensure seamless operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, adhering to regulatory standards.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing with 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including SQF, HACCP, GMP, and FDA standards.
- Proven track record of managing and developing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic setting.
